Hit the Red Carpet at CAP’s Oscar Party

Sure, the Oscars are a big deal in Hollywood, but let’s not forget that Portland is part of the West Coast family, too. As such, not only do we get to join in on the red carpet action, but we get to do it in support of a good cause as well!

That’s right, it’s time to dig deep into your closet or hit your favorite store for the latest fashions, because you’ll want to dress to impress for Rose City’s own 2016 Oscar Party! To be held on Sunday, February 28th at the historic Hotel Monaco in downtown Portland from 4:00pm until the end of the telecast, this is one event you won’t want to miss.

The beautiful Hotel Monaco makes a fitting setting for a red carpet, giant Oscar statues, refreshing beverages and delicious bites, so you’ll be looking your best for a reason. You’ll also be enjoying time with other like-minded Portlanders looking to hob nob the night away as the biggest awards show of the year plays on multiple televisions.

Worried about annoying commercial breaks? Don’t be! Each commercial break will provide you with a chance to win a stay at one of a number of hotels around the world. And complimentary hotel stays are just one of a number of prizes that will be given out in raffles throughout the evening.

While prizes are good, let’s not forget the true reason for the event, and that’s to support the Cascade AIDS Project (CAP). All proceeds from ticket sales, raffle tickets and drink purchases go to benefit this venerable organization. Try your luck and drink the night away knowing your dollars are supporting a cause you believe in.

There to guide you through an evening of Oscar fun and merriment will be none other than Portland’s own drag superstar, Summer Seasons. There’ll be no shortage of playful Oscar ribbing, crowd participation, and laughter to go around. It will be a night you won’t soon forget.

Advance tickets are $25 ($30 at the door) and include light bites, desserts and a complimentary drink. There will also be a cash bar for signature cocktails. So don’t be afraid to try some of the night’s unique beverages and feel good knowing you’re supporting CAP!

Worried you might not be able to drive home? Remove any hesitation by booking a room at the always-classy Hotel Monaco. Rooms are available and can be reserved by either clicking here, by giving them a call at 503.222.0001, or by paying them a visit at 506 SW Washington Street.
